Louis Kruger (RSA)FCI International & KUSA All-Breeds JudgeLouis Kruger’s lifelong passion for dogs began with an early fascination for handling, grooming, and presentation. His dedication and skill were recognised when he won the prestigious KUSA National Adult Handler Award in both 2003 and 2010.
Over the years, Louis has handled a wide variety of breeds to remarkable success, achieving multiple Best in Show wins and numerous Top 10 All-Breeds rankings. Among his many highlights, Louis campaigned the Whippet MBIS Ch. Jesrae Take A Chance at WhiteSquall (“Mia”), who was crowned KUSA National Dog and #1 All-Breeds in 2012. He also made history by handling the first Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch to win an All-Breeds Best in Show in South Africa, later securing five Best in Show wins for the same kennel with three different Ridgebacks. As a breeder under the WhiteSquall prefix, Louis has produced and owned multiple top-winning dogs, including the Pointer Multi BIS Gr Ch. WhiteSquall Seasyde Olivero (“Oliver”), the top-winning Gundog/Sporting Dog of all time in South Africa and #1 All-Breeds in 2017 and 2018. His litter sister went on to become the Top Pointer Bitch in the United Kingdom in 2018, also winning the Group at Bath Championship Show. In 2022, Louis achieved further success when his homebred English Springer Spaniel, Gr Ch. WhiteSquall Pillow Talk, was crowned #1 All-Breeds in South Africa. Louis breeds English Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, Pointers, and Whippets, maintaining a reputation for producing dogs of exceptional quality, soundness, and breed type. He began his judging career in 2002 and qualified as a Licensed Judge for all Gundog breeds (FCI Groups 7 & 8, AKC Sporting Group) in 2008, authorised to award CC, CAC, and CACIB in all recognised FCI breeds. Currently recognised as South Africa’s youngest All-Breeds Judge, Louis has had the honour of officiating across South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, New Zealand, the United States of America, Mexico, and Israel. In addition to his judging and breeding achievements, Louis is actively involved in South Africa’s National Canine Organisation (KUSA), where he serves as Resources and Examinations Officer of the Judges Education Council, contributing to the training, evaluation, and development of future judges. |
